Michael Bisping Breaks Down UFC Sydney Co-Main Event: Al Iaquinta vs. Ross Pearson

The UFC Fight Night: Rockhold vs. Bisping co-main event match-up between Al Iaquinta and Ross Pearson has the potential of being Fight of the Night in Sydney on Friday. Michael Bisping, who fights in the main event, recently gave his opinion of the lightweight scrap that leads into his and former Strikeforce champion Luke Rockhold’s main event grudge match. But “The Count” is a little biased toward his fellow Englishman.

“Regarding the co-main event, that’s a fantastic match-up, two great strikers. Of course, I’m a big fan of Ross Pearson. I love the way he fights. He always brings it every time,” said Bisping.

“I’m sure me and Luke are going to deliver it in the main event, the co-main event is not to be slapped on either,” he added.

Pearson (16-7, 1 NC) is coming off a knockout win over former title contender Gray Maynard in his last outing, while Iaquinta (9-3-1) knocked out Rodrigo Damm in his last outing on Sept. 5.

“That’s a fantastic match-up. I like Iaquinta. He’s the perfect match-up for Ross Pearson to bring out the best in both fighters,” said Bisping. “You’re going to see a lot of boxing, a lot of body shots from both of those guys, and he’s a great fighter from top to bottom as well.”

There’s a good chance that the co-main event will end in a finish.
