Timo Werner was the target for Thomas Tuchel's ire on Monday night as the Chelsea manager's bafflement at the Chelsea forward was clear for all to hear.

As long as you spoke German.

Chelsea brushed Everton aside in a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge, Kai Havertz impressing as Jorginho wrapped up the three points from the penalty spot.

But it wasn't all plain sailing as Werner, who started and played 89 minutes, was adominshed in front of his team-mates for not following his manager's tactics.

TV microphones picked up Tuchel's German instructions as the Chelsea manager was shown berating his player.

Tuchel reportedly said when the scores were still goalless: "Timo, how long are you staying on the left? You're playing on the right!

"The last 15 mins you've only been on the left! Don't you understand?"

Chelsea soon took the lead as Havertz's finish was deflected into his own goal by Ben Godfrey. Havertz then won the penalty which Jorginho scored.
