What Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick said on Hull City and Tim Walter's dismissal
Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick admits it will be difficult to plan for Hull City and what their potential gameplan might be, but is expected a reaction to the events of this week.
City sacked Tim Walter on Wednesday and their approach at the Riverside Stadium will be very different under caretaker boss Andy Dawson, compared to what it would have been under the German.
That, Carrick says, makes it doubly difficult to prepare for a side that have lost their last fou and have only one clean sheet in their opening 17 games of these season. City have won only three times, albeit two of those have come on the road.

“There was disappointment after the game, and frustration at the goal as well. Losing the goal in the way we did was a big blow, but you’ve got to use that to fire yourself up and get yourself ready for the weekend," Carrick said.
"It’s a quick turnaround, and we’ll just have to pick the bodies that are fit and ready for Saturday. Whatever happens, I’m confident we’ll be ready for that game.
“[Sacking the manager] It has an impact in terms of our preparation because there’s obviously not much for us to go on in terms of who’s been managing the team. Someone new is there now, and we’ll do our best to assess that as best we can.
"Ultimately, though, it’s about us, and making sure we’re prepared right and ready to do the things we want to do well. It’s always about us setting those standards and keeping to them. That’ll be a big focus for us.
"They've had a change in manager and that can work in a number of ways, so we've got to be ready for their uplift and a bounce and an energetic performance from them. We've got to be ready to be super-positive ourselves and the boys are ready for that, ad we're looking forward to the game."
