Miguel Almiron contract truth revealed as Newcastle United star hints at dream exit
Miguel Almiron's agent has claimed that the South American forward has triggered a further year on his current Newcastle United deal.
The 30-year-old has been linked with the exit door at St James' Park constantly in the last few windows with Saudi Pro League clubs, Charlotte FC and now River Plate queuing up for his signature. With River Plate's interest in Almiron deemed genuine by his representative Daniel Campos, the agent suggested that the only thing stopping a move would not be from the player's side.
He told TYC: "He has a valid contract . The link was renewed last year for three more (June 2027), and with the new owners of the club.

"Miguel does not despair about money issues or doing crazy things . If there is an offer from a team, we will go through the appropriate channels."
It would also appear that wages and a steep minimum fee release clause are also an issue for the Almiron party. Campos said: "The clause, except for the Brazilians, is unaffordable. The problem is also the contract he has."
Almiron has never hidden his admiration for River Plate and has even indicated that the Argentinian side would represent a dream move for him. Almiron said: "When I was a kid I watched all the games, I was a big fan because my father's family is Argentine. Whenever I can and when time allows, I watch the games with my family. I always wanted to play for River, it's one of my greatest dreams."
