Arsenal assistant Albert Stuivenberg is unsure if manager Mikel Arteta will be back in the dugout for Thursday’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Liverpool.

Arteta tested positive for Covid-19 earlier this week and he is currently isolating at home, as per Government guidelines.

The Spaniard was forced to miss Saturday’s match with Manchester City and instead Stuivenberg took charge of the team from the dugout.

Arteta will hope to be back for Thursday’s Carabao Cup clash with Liverpool at Emirates Stadium.

But asked if that will be the case, Stuivenberg said: “I have no clue.

“We don’t know how this virus always develops. So we first have to be testing negative, of course, to come back in.”

Arsenal were also without other members of their backroom team for Saturday’s match with City, including assistant Steve Round.
