Millwall supporters loudly booed the Crystal Palace players taking the knee at the Den ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup third-round tie.

Lions players have declined to take the knee since they were booed by their returning supporters ahead of the Championship home match against Derby in December 2020.

In the following home game against QPR, Millwall opted for an alternative anti-discrimination gesture, with their player standing arm-in-arm in front of a banner calling for an end to all forms of discrimination. The Lions also replaced their sponsors with the Kick It Out logo on the front of their shirts for the game.

Championship clubs can decide whether or want they want to take the knee, with Millwall fans continuing to boo opponents who do.

All 20 Premier League clubs are committed to performing the anti-racism gesture before every match, however.

There were loud boos as Palace took the knee in a sold-out Den. There also were two loud bangs from the away end before kick-off when Palace supporters let off smoke flares.
