Mini keynote - Driving sustainability in the auto industry

“The time for talking is over ‒ this is a pivotal moment for the car industry. Electric is happening now,” said Jonathan Goodman of Polestar in a rousing speech that encouraged fellow manufacturers and governments to make the changes essential to going electric. "It would be a shame if the cars of the future let down by the infrastructure of the past."

His colleague Frederika Klaren, joining on video link, explained more about how the company are aiming to lead the way in sustainability: "It’s not just about driving emissions. We need to think about producing cars in a carbon neutral way. Our goal is to produce a climate neutral car by 2030, without offsetting.”

The Plug It In Summit 2022 was the first live event bringing together the Evening Standard’s editorial team, commercial partners and hundreds of experts from across the electric motoring landscape, from thought leaders to manufacturers, law makers to green lobbyists and even flying car designers.
