On Friday Cabral was held up by two men on a motorcycle, who mugged him and stole a backpack containing his training gear and money he had just withdrawn to pay coach and manager André Pederneiras.

"I’ve lived in Rio for 15 years and it never happened. It was a big shock,” Cabral said. He also posted a facebook link to the news story, adding "sh*tty country" about his native Brazil.

The fighter was not injured in the robbery, which occurred just after he had withdrawn the money from a local bank.

The undefeated 30-year-old had a two-year lay off between official fights before his UFC debut on Wednesday at Fight Night 29 in Brazil, where he won a unanimous decision over David Mitchell.

The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert was on the cast of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil II until he suffered a broken hand.
