Braves' Ronald Acuna leaves game early for second time in 6 days with apparent ankle injury
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. went down with an apparent ankle injury in the seventh inning against the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday afternoon. It is the second time in six days he's had to leave a game early with an injury concern.
Acuna, who left a game last weekend after being hit in the hand by a pitch, ran out a two-out infield single in the bottom of the inning and hit the first-base bag awkwardly. He immediately pulled up and began limping down the line without putting his left leg down.
Trainers came out to see him as he held his left ankle while down on the right field line.

He left the game after the play, but did not need assistance in getting off the field. He walked gingerly and moved his ankle around, but it appeared less concerning that it originally seemed.
The X-rays on Acuna's hand earlier in the week came back negative. He suffered a left pinky contusion and was listed as day-to-day after Saturday's game. He was listed day-to-day last month with a mild abdominal strain.
The 23-year-old star is batting .304 in 34 games this season with a league-leading 11 home runs and 32 runs scored. His 80 total bases are also a league best. The Braves begin a weekend series at the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday.
