Mohamed Salah remains 'dream' target as 'astronomical' wages explained after Liverpool admission
Mohamed Salah reportedly still remains a target for Saudi Pro League clubs - and it would be a 'dream' for the Middle Eastern outfits to sign him. The 32-year-old has less than eight months remaining on his current deal at Anfield and last weekend admitted he was disappointed by the fact he has not yet received a formal contract offer from the Reds.
However, the Egyptian - whose 223 goals since signing in 2017 have helped the Reds win the Champions League and Premier League - hinted that he has his heart set on staying at Anfield. "You know I have been in the club for many years," said Salah.
"There is no club like this. But in the end, it is not in my hands. As I said before, it is December and I haven't received anything yet about my future.

"I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it is not in my hands or the fans' hands. Let's wait and see. Of course [no offer is disappointing], yeah."
According to the Daily Mail, though, Salah - one of the most influential figures in the Arab world - remains a "dream" target for clubs in the Saudi Pro League despite a "huge" financial package that would include an "astronomical" wage packet.
Saudi Pro League interest in Salah is nothing new, with Al-Ittihad seeing a £150m bid rejected for the forward in September 2023.
Asked about his future at Southampton last weekend, Salah added: "I'm not going to retire soon so I'm just playing, focusing on the season and I'm trying to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League as well. I'm disappointed but we will see.
"I'm very professional. Everybody can see my work ethic. I'm just trying to enjoy my football and I will play at the top level as long as possible. I'm just doing my best because this is who I am and I try to give it all for myself and for the club. We will see what happens next."
