Mohamed Salah says he is welcoming Arsenal's challenge for the Premier League title this season. Liverpool made sure they continued their fine form with a routine victory over Bournemouth this weekend before the Gunners hammered Manchester City just 24 hours later.

It appears as if the Reds and Arsenal will be going toe-to-toe for the title with only six points separating the two sides at present. Arne Slot's side do, though, have a game in hand.

The Gunners did have plenty to say following their 5-1 victory over City at the Emirates, but it is Salah who is firmly focused on the task at hand.

Salah took his tally to 21 for the Premier League season with a brace at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday and now believes it is his Liverpool side who must keep their feet firmly on the ground.

"Yeah, I think [it feels] slightly different but last season we were also very close," Salah said. "As I've said before, we need to stay humble and just take it each game at a time.

"Focus on each game. We don't have to think further. Scoring goals and the team winning is an incredible feeling," he added.

"I've said it many times before that my main target this season is to win the Premier League with the team. We are going in the right direction so hopefully we can keep going like this."

The Egyptian is yet to renew terms with Liverpool, given he is out of contract in the summer with contrasting reports circulating around his future in recent weeks.

Liverpool play Arsenal on May 10 in what could be the encounter of the season. Both sides also have hopes of success in Europe, given they also qualified for the last eight of the UEFA Champions League just last week.
