Indian team thrashed England by 151 runs in the second Test at Lord’s and took a 1-0 lead in a five-match test series. Indian pace quartet produced a great display of fast bowling and led India to a historic test win. KL Rahul was awarded man of the match for his terrific hundred in the first innings at Lord’s. Mohammad Siraj continued his excellent form and returned with match figures of 8 for 126.

Before the start of day 5, England had a slight upper hand. But the 89* run stand between Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah put India into the driver’s seat. A partnership of 89 runs between Shami and Jasprit Bumrah was India’s highest ninth-wicket partnership in England. Earlier, the pair of Kapil Dev and Madan Lal had in 1982 scored the highest runs for the ninth wicket at the historic ground of Lord’s with a stand of 66 runs between them. This was also the best score of Shami and Bumrah in Test cricket.

Mohammad Shami has achieved a special record by his name in the second innings and has left behind many legendary players of the cricket world. He smashed 56 off just 70 balls and helped India to get the lead of 272 runs. He reached the fifty with a 92-meter six over the cow corner boundary off Moeen Ali. This was Shami’s second half-century in Test cricket. His maiden Test fifty also came against England in 2014.

And with this innings Mohammad Shami (56* off 70 balls) now has the highest Test score at Lord’s more than Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Ricky Ponting, Jacques Kallis, AB Devilliers, Cheteshwar Pujara. This is also the first Test fifty by an Indian player (number nine or lower) in SENA countries since 2014.
