Mohawk baseball team blanks Hopewell

Mar. 21—The Mohawk High baseball team went unanswered against Hopewell on Wednesday.

The Warriors won the nonsection road game, 6-0.

Vinny Pezzuolo (1-0) took the hill for four innings and struck out four batters and allowed three hits. Briar Crawford relieved Pezzuolo and pitched three innings to throw seven strikeouts and two walks.

Pezzuolo led Mohawk with three RBIs and a triple.

Mohawk (1-0) recorded 10 hits and scored one run in the first inning, one in the third, one in the fifth, two in the sixth and one in the seventh.

The Warriors open WPIAL Section 1-3A play at 4:30 p.m. Monday when they host Quaker Valley.
