Sheffield United midfielder Nick Montgomery is disappointed Sunday's Steel City derby with Wednesday is restricted to npower League One.

Despite the game taking place in the third tier of English football, this game is arguably the biggest hyped fixture between the two teams since the 1993 FA Cup semi-final at Wembley given the two sides' positions in the table and the sell-out crowd at Hillsborough is likely to dwarf many attendances in the Premier League and Championship.

"They are great games and the only thing is that it's a shame it's in League One," said Montgomery. "It should be a Championship fixture with the size of the two clubs."

He added: "For League One it is a massive game and there is a lot riding on it. We want to keep picking up points and they've had a tough run of late and will be desperate to get back on track.

"It's really special, I played my first one when I was 18 and that was at Hillsborough and it was an unbelievable atmosphere.

"The fact Sheffield Wednesday are still in a great position to fight for automatic promotion and the play-offs makes it a fantastic game, for the neutrals as well."
