Hope for holidaymakers as Government set to review foreign travel list

Holidaymakers could be given more options for quarantine-free travel when the Government today reviews its foreign travel list.

An update of the lists which determine the quarantine and testing requirements for people arriving in the UK could see Malta and the Balearic Islands added to the green list, according to reports.

It comes after the vaccines minister revealed almost half of all adults aged 25 to 29 in England and a third of those aged 18 to 24 had now received their first dose of a coronavirus jab.

People arriving in the UK from green list destinations are not required to self-isolate, but there are currently no viable major tourist destinations in that tier.

Britney Spears speaks out against ‘abusive’ conservatorship

Britney Spears has asked a judge to end her conservatorship and said the court-ordered legal arrangement controlling her life is “doing me way more harm than good”.

It is the first time the pop star’s words have been heard in open court for the first time in the 13-year conservatorship.

Spears made a highly awaited virtual appearance at a court in Los Angeles on Wednesday and told judge Brenda Penny she wants the conservatorship ended without a further medical assessment.

In an emotional statement, Spears, 39, said she believed the conservatorship was abusive. “I just want my life back,” she said.

Charles gave Duke and Duchess of Sussex ‘substantial sum’

The Prince of Wales carried on supporting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with a “substantial sum” in the months following Megxit, despite Harry claiming his family “literally cut me off financially”.

Heir to the throne Charles continued to fund the Sussexes until the summer of 2020, but the duke told Oprah Winfrey he stopped getting financial support from his family in the first quarter of that year.

Funding for both Charles’s sons – the Dukes of Sussex and Cambridge – and their families contributed to a £4.5 million bill for the prince, his Clarence House financial accounts showed.

Harry and Meghan were still listed as receiving money from Charles’s Duchy of Cornwall income, despite quitting the monarchy at the end of March last year.

This amounts to 5.8% of the whole study population, with 2% reporting severe symptoms.

Researchers found the prevalence of long Covid increased with age and was higher among women.

England to face Germany at Wembley in Euros last-16

England will face Germany at Wembley in the last-16 of Euro 2020 after a dramatic finish to Group F.

The Three Lions beat the Czech Republic 1-0 on Tuesday night to win Group D and set up a knockout game against whoever finished as runners-up in Group F last night.

Portugal and France drew 2-2 while Germany twice fought back to draw 2-2 with Hungary in Munich to reach the knockout stages.

Such was the swing of goals and positions in the 'group of death' that England were playing each of France, Portugal, Germany and Hungary and different points of the night.

However, the final results meant that France finished top of the group, with Germany second, Portugal third and Hungary fourth as the 2014 World Cup winners crashed out.
