Odey has scored an astonishing 14 goals, while Ibrahim has netted 10 times this season and the former midfielder believes the duo will impress if given a chance.
"I believe there are talents in the league," Adepoju told Goal.
"But the preparation of these players to break into the big stage is the problem.
"Yes, the league improving but at the moment, Nigeria needs the qualifications for the African Cup of Nations and the World Cup, which is very paramount.
"I believe there is going to be the chance for them though I don't know the plans of Gernot Rohr at the moment.
"But our players should be ready for the opportunity at any point in time when they will be needed.
"They should continue to train very well and need to be consistent in all the matches they are playing.
"I believe that the local players can be given chance to feature in the national team if there are friendly games before the upcoming qualifier matches.
"If there is, I believe we have some players like MFM's Stephen Odey, Alhassan Ibrahim of Akwa United, others can play for the Super Eagles.
"I will urge them to keep been consistent in scoring goals so that when they are called upon, they can prove themselves and do the league proud."
