Ankita Rai has always been mad about home décor and interior design. However, it was motherhood that encouraged her to showcase her decorating skills on social. “I started documenting my passion two years back, when I created my son’s nursery,” says the self-taught home stylist whose residence has been featured by decor brands and design publications alike.
Based in Lucknow, the sprawling 35-year-old bungalow has been home to Ankita since she married 12 years ago. “I did all the styling myself and my husband supported me wherever he could. Usually, I visualise the whole setup and note down what I need. I then divide it in to what I can do myself and needs to be outsourced. Until the whole look is finalised, I don’t buy stuff,” she explains.
When asked to define her home interiors style, Ankita says, it’s a continuously evolving one. She enjoys DIY projects, more so when it's with her toddler. They recently decorated a candle together. Last year, she made the most of her time indoors. “The lockdown was an opportunity to do small home makeovers,” she says. The results show on her Instagram grid that’s filled with vibrant ideas for just about every nook and corner of the home.

Drawn to sustainable, earthy design, Ankita chose cane as the primary material for the living room furniture. "I love the warmth it brings into the space," she says. The home is peppered with tablescapes and gallery walls, often featuring DIY décor by the home stylist herself.

"I got this wall painted to create fun set-ups and break the monotony every now and then. This seating arrangement was perfect as a reading nook for some me-time," she says.

A plant mom to hundreds of green babies, Ankita loves the outdoors. Ankita's favourite space is her bedroom. The poster bed, which takes centrestage here, is a childhood dream come true. The entrance is marked by customised, embroidered art, set against a Mediterranean blue wall.

Borussia Dortmund will not be able to call upon Jadon Sancho as they looked to overturn a 2-1 Champions League quarter-final deficit against Manchester City. The Bundesliga giants trail Pep Guardiola’s runaway Premier League leaders in the last-eight tie after Phil Foden’s last-gasp strike in the first leg that came after Marco Reus had cancelled out Kevin De Bruyne’s opening goal. Sancho - who was absent from England duty for the start of 2022 World Cup qualifying - missed that initial clash against his former club due to a thigh injury that has kept him sidelined since he scored the winner in a 1-0 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach in the German Cup quarter-finals on March 2.
Tottenham will face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup Final after both sides saw off local rivals in the semi-finals. Spurs eased past fellow Londoners Brentford 2-0 on Tuesday night with goals from Moussa Sissoko and Heung-min Son in north London. The second semi-final saw Manchester United host Man City at Old Trafford, and the visitors prevailed following an open first half.
Mikel Arteta has spoken this season about how his Arsenal squad have “two faces” and Dani Ceballos is a prime example of that. When he is out of form, though, Ceballos can leave you wondering if it’s the same player you saw last week. Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho once jokingly asked Dele Alli if he had been replaced by his brother and Arteta would not have been wrong to use the same quip with Ceballos at times.
Mauricio Pochettino says Paris Saint-Germain must improve their home form to overcome "the best team in the world" in Bayern Munich on Tuesday night. Despite his side holding a 3-2 advantage ahead of the Champions League quarter-final second leg in the French capital, the former Tottenham manager is conscious that his players need to match their form on the road at the Parc des Princes. “I agree that we’ve been better away from home,” Pochettino said.
Chelsea return to Seville tonight looking to convert their 2-0 Champions League quarter-final lead against FC Porto into a place in the last four. Winning the Champions League might be the only path back into the competition next season for the Blues. For all the progress under Thomas Tuchel, they sit fifth in the Premier League and face plenty of competition for the top four.

Ben Chilwell wants to become a Chelsea legend – just like his idol Ashley Cole – and is targeting a Champions League and FA Cup double to get his Stamford Bridge career off to an unforgettable start. The England international was a £50million signing from Leicester last summer and will go some way to repaying that fee straight away if can help lead Thomas Tuchel’s side to silverware in his first season at the club.
Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle says no one would blame Harry Kane for wanting to leave the club at the end of the season. Kane is thought to be considering pushing for a transfer if Spurs fail to qualify for the Champions League for a second consecutive year, with Sunday's defeat to Manchester United leaving them six points from fourth place with seven games to play. Spurs regard the England captain, who has a contract until June 2024, as not for sale at any price and there are few clubs with the resources or appetite to test their resolve, particularly given Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe are expected to be on the market this summer.
