Naming Rights in Place, UFC 200 Slated for T-Mobile Arena

Naming Rights in Place, UFC 200 Slated for T-Mobile Arena

UFC 200 won't take place at the UFC Center in Las Vegas.

That's because there won't be a UFC Center in Las Vegas. The new 20,000-seat arena being built on the strip by a joint partnership between MGM Resorts International and Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), commonly referred to as the Las Vegas Arena, has been undergoing naming rights discussions with various partners.

The UFC was reportedly one of the businesses interested in acquiring the naming rights, but wireless carrier T-Mobile has apparently won out, according to a Thursday report by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

As recently as late October, UFC officials had been discussing the possibility of the arena being named the UFC Center.

While it appears the arena will now be named T-Mobile Arena, UFC president Dana White has still consistently stated that the UFC will operate several events per year in the arena and intends to be the first live sporting event at there.

Additionally, White has stated that the promotion's blockbuster UFC 200 event in July will take place at T-Mobile Arena.
