Naomi Osaka keeping Cordae in dark about baby’s gender as she opens up about impending motherhood
Naomi Osaka has revealed that she knows the gender of her baby, but she has kept it a secret from her boyfriend Cordae while she has also admitted that pregnancy and motherhood will be a constant learning experience.
Former world No 1 Osaka announced at the beginning of the year that she would miss the season-opening Grand Slam, the Australian Open, as well as the remainder of the 2023 campaign as she is expecting her first child with Cordae.
The 25-year-old, who is expected to give birth in either July or August, already knows the gender of her unborn child, but she has decided to keep it a secret from Grammy-nominated rapper Cordae and the public in general.
“I’ve been preparing, but he doesn’t know the gender yet, only I know,” she told PEOPLE magazine in a recent interview. “So it’s not like I can build out the room or anything.”
It remains to be seen if Osaka will host a big gender reveal party before the baby arrives or if Cordae will only find out the gender of his child when she gives birth.
The two-time US Open champion added: “So I don’t know, [I’m] just kind of winging it. That’s kind of the key motto in my life a little.”

And the four-time Grand Slam winner admits she is enjoying the current learning curve and adventure.

“I think there’s going to be a lot of things that I don’t know, but I have a lot of really amazing people close to me that I can ask questions about. Just a new adventure.”
