Victor Osimhen has been left out of Napoli's squad for Saturday's match against Parma - with reports claiming the forward's relationship with the Serie A club is now "completely broken" after a deadline day move to Chelsea fell through.

Earlier this week, the 25-year-old looked poised to end the longstanding speculation around his future and sign for Chelsea, two seasons after he helped Napoli win a first Scudetto in over 30 years.

But a move to Stamford Bridge failed to materialise before the Premier League transfer window closed on Friday night and, as a result, Osimhen remained in Naples.

And now, less than 24 hours after his failed move to West London, the Nigerian has been left out of Napoli's squad for Saturday's Serie A match against Parma by manager Antonio Conte.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the forward's current relationship with the club is "completely broken while parties look for a solution".

Osimhen, though, could still seal a move away from Italy for the upcoming season as teams in the Saudi Pro League are allowed to sign players until September 2. Al Ahli had shown serious interest in the player earlier this week before a late move to Chelsea appeared on the cards.

Before the deadline-day chaos, Osimhen's agent Roberto Calenda said: "Osimhen is a Napoli player, with a contract recently renewed with mutual satisfaction. "He made history and when there were major offers we always accepted the club's decisions.

"As I said, he is not a package to be shipped far away to make room for new prophets. Victor was elected African Footballer of the Year, eighth at the Ballon d’Or, he still has so much to do in Europe. There needs to be respect and balance."
