Napoli still waiting for Cavani 'mega offer'

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis says he is yet to receive an offer close to what he expects for striker Edinson Cavani.

Uruguay striker Cavani is one of the most highly-rated forwards in Europe, having scored 49 Serie A goals in his two years at the Partenopei and also netting five in eight Champions League games this season.

The Uruguayan has attracted the attention of many clubs across Europe, including Premier League champions Manchester City and European champions Chelsea, but De Laurentiis told Gazzetta Dello Sport he has not yet been offered a fee which he feels is fair.

He said: "If we receive a mega offer for Cavani then I will not be able to hold back.

"For now, no club has offered me the money I'm asking for."

Cavani, 25, is contracted with Napoli until 2015, and reportedly has a buy-out clause of £90 million in his current deal.
