NFL's Redskins fail to restore voided trademarks

By Andrew Chung NEW YORK, July 8 (Reuters) - The NFL's Washington Redskins on Wednesday failed to convince a U.S. judge to reinstate six trademark registrations canceled last year for being offensive to Native Americans. A federal judge in Alexandria, Virginia agreed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office that the trademarks "may disparage" Native Americans, and that the law allowing for cancellation does not violate the U.S. Constitution.
