Nationals activate Trea Turner from DL, not in Friday's lineup

Turner has been out since April 8 with a right hamstring injury.

The Nationals activated shortstop Trea Turner from the 10-day disabled list Friday.

Turner had been out since April 8 with right hamstring tightness. He has seven strikeouts and just three hits (.158) in a little more than four games played this season.

Despite being activated, Turner will not be in Washington's starting lineup Friday against the Mets. Instead, Wilmer Difo will start at shortstop.

Turner captivated audiences last season by hitting .342 with 13 home runs and 33 stolen bases in just 73 games. He will likely bat leadoff once he returns, though Adam Eaton has excelled in that spot since Turner's injury.
