NBA betting: Bettor wins $40K on a prop bet parlay in Clippers' Game 5 win over Suns

A Tennessee bettor turned $500 into over $40,000 thanks to the Los Angeles Clippers' Game 5 win over the Phoenix Suns on Monday night.

Los Angeles cut Phoenix's lead in the series to 3-2 in its 116-102 win. And that victory earned a bettor $40,500 at BetMGM in an eight-bet parlay on the game.

Here's how the bettor did it.

  • Devin Booker with 3 or more assists (Actual: 3)

  • Paul George with 4 or more assists (6)

  • Chris Paul over 16.5 points (22)

  • Cameron Payne under 6.5 points (5)

  • DeAndre Ayton under 15.5 points (10)

  • Chris Paul under 4.5 rebounds (3)

  • DeAndre Ayton under 13.5 rebounds (11)

  • Over 211.5 total points (228)

As you can see, the bettor cut it close on Booker’s assist total and Payne’s point total. Booker’s third and final assist of the game came on a Torrey Craig layup with 5:31 left that cut LA’s lead to seven. Payne didn’t score at all in the second half and re-entered the game with 74 seconds to go and Los Angeles leading by 14. He didn’t take a shot after he came back into the game, so the bettor didn’t have to sweat too hard on Payne getting two more points.

George got his fourth assist in the third quarter and Chris Paul got his final rebound with 9:28 to go in the game. None of the eight bets were long shots by themselves, but it took a fair amount of luck for them to all hit in the same game.

Will a bettor hit a similar parlay in Game 4 of the series between the Bucks and Hawks? If so, the wise bet may be to avoid anything related to Trae Young given his right foot injury and his uncertainty for the game. The over/under for points scored by Giannis Antetokounmpo is 33.5 and it's 23.5 for Khris Middleton. Young's over/under is at 27.5.
