NBA betting: Over two-thirds of bettors like the Suns to cover in Game 2

The Suns are a popular bet to cover in Game 2.

Phoenix beat Milwaukee 118-103 in Game 1 after entering the game as six-point favorites. The Suns are 5.5-point favorites ahead of Game 2 and a lot of bettors at BetMGM are happy the Suns are giving fewer points.

As of Thursday morning, 72% of the wagers on the point spread have been on the Suns and 69% of the handle — the total money wagered against the spread is in the Suns’ favor. The line has held steady at 5.5 points.

Bettors are really liking the under too. The total has dropped two points from 221.5 to 219.5 and 74% of tickets are on the under while 78% of the money bet on the total is on the under.

The Bucks’ odds to win Game 2 are making them a popular moneyline pick, however. Nearly two-thirds of bets on the moneyline — 64% to be exact — are on Milwaukee to even the series before it heads back to Milwaukee for Game 3 on Sunday.

The most popular prop bets at BetMGM are the Suns to win by 11-15 points, DeAndre Ayton to have more than 12.5 rebounds and Chris Paul to have more than 22.5 points. Bettors clearly like the +525 odds on the Suns winning by a similar margin to Game 1.

The Suns are currently -300 favorites to win the Finals after their Game 1 win. Phoenix entered the Finals as the favorite and was -190 to win ahead of Game 1.

If you’re confident in a Milwaukee comeback — especially with Giannis Antetokounmpo back in the fold — you should probably jump on the Bucks’ odds. The Bucks are currently +240 to win the series, up from +160 ahead of Game 1.
