Lakers' LeBron James ruled out vs. Thunder with abdominal strain

The Los Angeles Lakers have announced that LeBron James will miss Thursday night's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to an abdominal strain.

According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, James aggravated the injury during Tuesday's game against the Houston Rockets.

James has already missed two of the Lakers' first eight games, and the team didn't give a timeline for his return. The Athletic's Shams Charania reported that the Lakers medical staff wants play it safe with this injury, so James is expected to miss at least a week.

The Lakers are 5-3 and are on a three-game winning streak. Their last loss just happened to be against the Thunder, a disastrous game that featured them blowing a 26-point lead. James didn't play in that game, which is the Thunder's sole win of the season thus far.
