NBA-National Basketball Association roundup

Jan 1 (The Sports Xchange) - Paul Millsap's days in Atlanta appear to be numbered as the Hawks are fielding offers for the three-time All-Star forward and impending free agent, ESPN reported Sunday. Atlanta is not actively shopping the 31-year-old big man, but is listening to trade offers from other teams in fear of losing Millsap without compensation next offseason, according to ESPN. Millsap has a player option worth $21.5 million for the 2017-18 season. He is averaging 17.4 points and 8.0 rebounds through 30 games this year. The Hawks (17-16) are also listening to offers on swingmen Kyle Korver and Thabo Sefolosha, per ESPN. -- The New Orleans Pelicans waived swingman Reggie Williams. The seven-year veteran was acquired three weeks ago as injuries piled up for New Orleans. Williams, 30, appeared in only five games and averaged 5.0 points and 1.2 rebounds with the Pelicans. -- The Hawks assigned forward Mike Scott to the Long Island Nets of the NBA Development League. Scott, 28, will be making his third D-League stint as he returns from a knee injury that cost him training camp and the beginning of the season. Scott is averaging 3.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 11.9 minutes per contest in seven games with the Hawks. Last season, he averaged 6.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 15.3 minutes in 75 games.
