Nov 1 (The Sports Xchange) - Ray Allen, a 10-time All-Star and two-time NBA champion, officially announced his retirement after 18 seasons on Tuesday morning. Allen last played in the 2013-14 season and has been tied to rumors of a potential return ever since. On Tuesday, he wrote a letter for The Players' Tribune saying he is walking away for good. "I write this to you today as a 41-year-old man who is retiring from the game," Allen wrote. "I write to you as a man who is completely at peace with himself." - - Chicago Bulls point guard Michael Carter-Williams will miss approximately four to six weeks with knee and wrist injuries, the team announced. Williams suffered a bone bruise in his left knee and a sprained left wrist when he was injured in the second quarter of Monday's game against the Brooklyn Nets. - - The Oklahoma City Thunder acquired forward Jerami Grant from the Philadelphia 76ers for veteran forward Ersan Ilyasova and a conditional first-round pick. The 22-year-old Grant averaged 9.7 points and 4.7 rebounds last season in his second NBA campaign. He is averaging 8.0 points and 3.5 rebounds in two games this season. Ilyasova has career averages of 10.6 points and 6.0 rebounds over eight-plus NBA seasons.
