The Boston Celtics strolled to a 120-108 victory in the opening game of the NBA Finals, and with the Celtics boasting a fierce home support, many are pinning the Warriors' hopes of winning the championship on their ability to win in Game 2. Chase Centre will again be the venue for Game 2, and if the Warriors fail to perform again, then the Celtics could run away with the series. But while many are anticipating the Celtics to continue their incredible home form for Game 3 and 4, Klay Thompson insists his side will do everything possible to turn things around in Boston. Speaking to the media ahead of Game 2 on Sunday evening, Thompson said: "We are going to play with desperation tomorrow, and I think that's when we are at our best."

Stephen Curry echoed the words of his teammate on Saturday, and reminded fans and pundits of the Warriors' superb comeback against the Memphis Grizzlies earlier in the Play-Offs. "Look at how we responded from Game 5 to Game 6 in the Memphis series, Game 4 to 5 in the Dallas series," said Curry. "Even moments throughout the regular season where things are starting to get away from us a little bit at times and kind of have your come-to-Jesus moment, like we need to play right. "How are we going to flip the script and get things back on the right track? We usually respond pretty well," he added. But if the Warriors are to upset the odds and turn around this series, they'll have to improve leaps and bounds from their poor performance in the opener.

Having held their own for the first three quarters, the Celtics put on a masterful performance in the final quarter, with Al Horford particularly impressing for the travelling side. Game 2 is scheduled for 01:00 BST on Monday, June 6, before the series heads to Boston for Game 3 and 4 on June 9 and 11.
