Pelicans' Jaxson Hayes reportedly arrested, injured after altercation with police
Jaxson Hayes, center for the New Orleans Pelicans, has reportedly been arrested after engaging in a fight with police.
According to TMZ, police were called to a Los Angeles area home after receiving a call about a domestic disturbance. It's not clear if the home belonged to Hayes, but when police arrived, he reportedly tried to prevent them from entering to check on others in the house.
Hayes then reportedly got "combative" with the police, who eventually tased him after radioing "officer needs help." TMZ reported that Hayes was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, and so was one of the officers.
Hayes, 21, has yet to be charged with a crime, but he'll reportedly be booked for felony battery on a police officer. The domestic disturbance that originally set off this incident is still being investigated by police, but according to TMZ, both parties are not cooperating.
