It looks like Bol Bol won't be getting a change of scenery after all.

Mike Singer of the Denver Post reported on Thursday that the trade that would have sent Bol from the Denver Nuggets to the Detroit Pistons has been voided due to a failed physical. Details about why Bol failed his physical are not known.

There's only one major injury in Bol's past that the public is aware of. He needed surgery after he fractured his left foot during his freshman year at Oregon. He missed all but nine games and then declared for the 2019 draft. He hasn't had any injury trouble in his three seasons with the Nuggets.

It's rare for a team to void a trade. The Nuggets had even officially announced the trade, releasing a statement and posting a "thank you" tweet on their Twitter account.

The last time the Pistons voided a trade was back in 2016. Donatas Motiejunas was headed to Detroit in a three-team trade, but it was called off due to a failed physical.

Bol has appeared in 14 games for the Nuggets this season, averaging 2.4 points and 1.4 rebounds in 5.8 minutes per game. A trade to the Pistons would have given Bol the opportunity to give his career a jolt of life in an environment where winning isn't exactly expected, but for now it appears that he's staying put. If the trade had been completed, it would have sent Rodney McGruder and a 2022 second-round draft pick to Denver.
