Oklahoma City's Andre Roberson missed 10 of 12 free throws during Sunday's loss to the Rockets. This isn't news, as Roberson is a very, very bad free throw shooter: He's 49 percent from the stripe for his career.
What is noteworthy is how the Rockets' bench reacted to his cruical misfires in the fourth quarter.
That's right. Rockets reserves were dying of laughter as Roberson floundered from the line.
Some onlookers viewed this as disrespectful.
This is pretty damn disrespectful from the Rockets bench. I don't care how bad Roberson is at free throws. You are professionals, not kids. pic.twitter.com/haWCgr9NPZ— Adam Joseph (@AdamJosephSport) April 23, 2017
Personally, while the laughing is clearly disrespectful to Roberson, my prevailing thought is "So what?" It's harmless, and if Roberson is offended by it, he should either shoot free throws better or avoid getting to the line. Simple as that.
