Isaiah Thomas turned in a legendary NBA playoff performance Tuesday night.

The Celtics point guard scored 53 points to lead his team to a come-from-behind 129-119 overtime victory over the Wizards in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series in Boston.

Thomas, who had a front tooth knocked out in Game 1, made 18 of 33 field goal attempts and was his usual All-Star self in crunch time.

His performance came on what would have been his sister Chyna's 23rd birthday. Chyna Thomas was killed in a motor vehicle accident April 15 in Thomas' native Washington state.

Boston overcame a 42-29 deficit after one quarter to eventually force OT.

One other NBA playoff game is being played Tuesday. The Western Conference semifinal between the Jazz and Warriors is under way in Oakland. Golden State is well-rested after sweeping the Trail Blazers. The Jazz are coming off a seven-game series against the Clippers.
