NBA playoffs: Jazz's George Hill ruled out for Game 2 with toe injury

The point guard will be sidelined in Thursday's Game 2 matchup against the Warriors with left big toe soreness.

Utah will need to be on its toes against Golden State while George Hill rests his.

The Jazz point guard has been ruled out for Thursday's Game 2 matchup against the Warriors with left big toe soreness, the team announced.

"It's very frustrating that he can't play tonight," Jazz forward Gordon Hayward told reporters. "But at the same time, it is what it is, and we've got to try to move on and step up."

With Hill sidelined, fellow guards Shelvin Mack and Dante Exum can expect some added playing time.

Hill, 31, struggled as he scored seven points with three assists and four rebounds in Tuesday's Game 1 loss. However, the nine-year veteran averaged a career-high 16.9 points in 49 games during the regular season in his first year with the Jazz.

The Warriors hold a 1-0 second-series lead over the Jazz, with Games 3 and 4 scheduled for Saturday and Monday in Utah.
