Patrick Beverley apologizes to Chris Paul for late-game shove

Patrick Beverley's frustration got the best of him on Wednesday night. The Los Angeles Clippers were about to lose 130-103 to the Phoenix Suns, sending the Suns to the NBA Finals and the Clippers home to start the offseason in disappointment. Late in the fourth quarter, Beverley walked up to the Suns' Chris Paul and roughly shoved him in the back.

That's a pretty cheap shot considering that Paul's back was turned and he had no idea it was coming. Beverley was ejected from the game and is likely facing a suspension to start the 2021-22 season, sources told Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes.

More than 12 hours later, after a night of sleep and a little distance, Beverley appeared on Twitter for the first time since early April. He wasn't there to defend his actions or assign blame for the loss, but to apologize to Paul for the petty shove.

Even the guy who shoved Paul as his team was being blown out of the water couldn't resist congratulating the future Hall of Famer on finally, finally making it to the NBA Finals. That's a legend.
