There are a lot of ways to injure yourself playing in the NCAA Tournament, but getting hit in the face with a basketball isn't usually at the top of the list.
But that's what happened in the Bucknell-West Virginia game Thursday. The Mountaineers'Elijah Macon was just trying to defend the man inbounding the ball before he got real up close and personal with it.
Macon was helped off the court and took a moment on the sideline to gather himself. After the pain subsided, it turned out he was actually fine and returned to the court.
He'll be sure to avoid having his face come in the way of the basketball again.
