NCAA Tournament will include former Southern Indiana high school stars

Mar. 20—SOUTHERN INDIANA — The Big Dance will feature local connections, as two former Southern Indiana high school basketball players will participate in the NCAA Tournament.

Tre Coleman, a Jeffersonville High School graduate, will help lead the 10-seed Nevada Wolf Pack against 7-seed Dayton at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in Salt Lake City, Utah in the West Region.

Silver Creek graduate Trey Kaufman-Renn and the No. 1 seed Purdue Boilermakers will play at 7:25 p.m. Friday in Indianapolis against the winner of the First Four matchup between 16 seeds Montana State and Grambling.

Kaufman-Renn and Coleman have made significant contributions to their teams during the 2023-24 season.

Coleman started 32 of the Wolf Pack's 33 games, averaging 8.5 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. The senior was named to the Mountain West Conference's All-Defensive team for the second consecutive season.

Nevada(26-7) finished second in the regular season in the MWC. The Wolf Pack fell 85-78 to Colorado State in the MWC Tournament championship game.
