Neale swaps Hamworthy for Dorchester ahead of new campaign
HAMWORTHY United will be without former Cherries talent Matty Neale next term - after it was announced he had joined Dorchester Town.
Neale, who has played in the National South and the Welsh top-flight, helped the Hammers to the semi-finals of the FA Vase and the Wessex Premier League title last term.
However, despite the winger departing Hamworthy ahead of the new season, it appears Neale leaves with the Hammers best wishes, with the lure of Step Three football too much for the former Poole Town man.
Dorchester Town manager Glenn Howes stated on social media: "Matt was brought to our attention last season and we’ve continued to monitor, but understandably it was difficult to acquire his services.
"Matt joins us on the back of a hugely successful season with Hamworthy United and we’d like to thank Tim (Sills, boss) and his team for their part in supporting Matt’s career.
"We’ve been fortunate enough to have witnessed Matt’s ability this past week and we’re convinced his creativity in the final third and work ethic will stand him in good stead for Step Three football."
Neale joins former Poole teammate Olly Balmer at the Avenue Stadium as part of a complete overhaul of the squad at Dorchester.
