Nedim Bajrami in 'advanced' Rangers transfer talks as Sassuolo attacker wanted
Nedim Bajrami is reportedly in "advanced talks" with Rangers ahead of a proposed summer switch to Ibrox.
The Albanian attacker currently turns out for Sassuolo in Serie B and was part of his country's Euro 2024 squad where he broke records by scoring the fastest ever goal of the tournament against Italy in what was a stunning shock in Germany. It's claimed by reports in Albania, then corroborated by the Rangers Review, that the Light Blues are looking to bring the player to Glasgow before Friday night's deadline.
They say a loan with a purchase option next year is being discussed with talks already having taken place between the player's representatives and the Ibrox hierarchy. It comes as they seek a replacement for the outgoing Todd Cantwell who is closing in on a move to Blackburn Rovers on a cut-price deal.
Rovers are hopeful of getting that deal over the line for the wantaway midfielder but it would leave the club light in the number 10 role with just Tom Lawrence available at this time.
That being said, Ianis Hagi went all-in on his Rangers future this week when he insisted he didn't want to leave the club and vowed to "fight" for his spot amid speculation on his contract and what might come next.
Gers want another centre-half in the door before Saturday.
