Nedim Bajrami Rangers £3.5m transfer ON as Sassuolo chief predicts 'agreement soon'

Sassuolo chief Giovanni Carnevali has confirmed that Rangers are closing in on an agreement to sign Nedim Bajrami this evening.

The Albanian attacker, 25, has been on the club's shortlist for their deadline day business but it was a loan deal initially expected with an option for the Light Blues to spend to bring him in permanently next season. It's believed, however, that it is now a permanent move they want now to make the deal happen as Sassuolo were more open to letting him leave for good.

Now Carnevali has revealed that, while it's not a done deal as of yet, both clubs are still in negotiations to make it happen - with a £3.5million offer on the table - and it is progressing.

He insists it should be done before the deadline tonight.

“It’s being finalised but still not done. We are working on it. I think we’ll reach an agreement soon,” said this evening on Bajrami and Gers' interest.
