Neil Warnock makes surprise Rangers visit as ex Aberdeen boss given Ibrox VIP treatment
Neil Warnock made a surprise return to Scottish football today as the ex-Aberdeen boss was given the VIP treatment at Ibrox.
Warnock resigned from his role as interim Pittodrie boss in February after just 34 days in charge. The veteran manager, 75, failed to steady the ship during a forgettable season for the Dons, with caretaker Peter Leven eventually bringing stability to the club. Jimmy Thelin has since been appointed as Barry Robson's permanent successor and made history by winning his first TWELVE games in the hotseat.
Warnock's departure from the Granite City may have left a sour taste in some mouths of the Red Army and the English football cult hero has never made secret of his support for Rangers. Warnock's first game in charge of Aberdeen came at Ibrox in February as the Dons fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat. And today, he was back in the stands showing his support for the Light Blues as they faced Hibs.

Speaking before his first game in charge of Aberdeen back in February, Warnock opened up on his affection for Rangers. He explained: "All my mates will be there. The Dunoon Rangers fan club. I’ve had a few good afternoons there. They’re very entertaining, they look after you in the hospitality.
"They said they’re going to give me some stick on the bench during the game. It’s a fabulous club, I love watching games there but nothing would please me more than beating them if I’m honest."
