The family of a schoolgirl last seen six days ago have spoken of their desperation to get her back home.

Nellie Smith, 13, went missing from Horsham, west Sussex after visiting her grandmother on Thursday January 20 at 7pm.

Scotland Yard believe she is somewhere in north London, most likely Barnet, Harrow or Brent.

Sussex Police said in an appeal she may have travelled to the capital by herself to meet her mother.

One relative posted a desperate plea for Nellie to come home on Facebook.

Roseanna Smith said: “[Nellie] may have dyed her hair black.

“If anyone sees her please get in touch she has been missing for 6 days now. Let’s get her home where she belongs the family are very worried for her safety.”

Another added: “If anyone sees my baby sister message me. She has been missing for days now and I’m worried.”

Nellie is described as having long, mousy brown hair and was wearing a white jacket with a gold logo on the side, leggings and white trainers.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Can you help us to find missing 13 year old, Nellie Smith, from West Sussex.

“Nellie was last seen at her grandmother’s on Thursday at 7pm.

“She may have travelled to London to visit her mum.”
