Monaco value their highly-rated centre-half Benoit Badiashile at between €50m and €60m, with Newcastle, Man Utd and Chelsea interested, according to reports.

The 21-year-old joined the Ligue 1 club in 2016 and has made 119 appearances since making his first-team debut under Thierry Henry at the age of 17.

Why does the English transfer window open earlier? It could do with a tidy

Badiashile suffered a hamstring injury last term that ruled him out for two months. Overall, he played 34 times across all competitions in 2021/22.

Interest in the central defender is high, with several Premier League clubs contemplating making a bid.

According to Nice-Matin (via The Hard Tackle), Monaco are ‘expected to hold out for between €50m and €60m’ for the young defender.

Badiashile is under contract until 2024, but with a number of managers in England looking to recruit at least one new centre-half this summer, the French club could opt to cash in if a sufficient offer is put on the table.

Newcastle have already signed Sven Botman from Lille, and despite also adding Dan Burn in January, it would not be a surprise to see them purchase another centre-half in the coming months. The Magpies were linked with the Monaco man in the winter window.

Man Utd are looking at Ajax’s Lisandro Martinez, though they will need to offload at least one defender this summer, with Phil Jones, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Brandon Williams, Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe all surplus to requirements.

As for Chelsea, they are short in defence following the free transfer exits of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen. Meanwhile, club captain Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso have both been linked with Barcelona.

While Badiashile has not been mentioned too much in relation to Thomas Tuchel’s side, a move for the Frenchman should not be ruled out.

Monaco raked in €100m through the sale of Aurelien Tchouameni to Real Madrid, so will not be desperate to sell, meaning they are likely to hold out for their valuation of Badiashile.
