Newcastle United issue stadium proposals for 2025 as Brad Miller reveals specialist advice

Newcastle United's stadium plans for 2025 will boil down to just two options with a new site in mind or a revamped St James' Park - after a confirmation at a new fan meeting. The Magpies COO Brad Miller has now consulted with the fan advisory board to confirm plans for the new year.

It has also been confirmed that the club are looking at ways to improve the atmosphere at their current home. A statement from the fan's board, read: "Brad Miller referred back to a previous stadium infrastructure presentation. Planners, architects, project managers are all working away on the two options and scenarios previously discussed.

"Executives from the club are aiming to go to board in the new year with conclusions from the above and will present this to shareholders before making a final decision."

Chronicle Live sources have already told us that moving to Gosforth Park is not on the agenda but there is hope from fans that a stadium switch could be closer to home with the Town Moor suggested by many supporters.

In the mean time the club are looking at ways of improving the current sound at the stadium after complaints from fans down the years. Newcastle have consulted Vanguardia who have worked with venues like Wembley and the O2 Arena to improve sound.

The club said: "Brad Miller explained that Vanguardia will look at the stadium sound, who do a lot of acousticians and sound monitoring The club are also looking at sound quality of tracks used on matchday."

But Miller insisted that United would not follow the likes of Wolves or Crystal Palace with pre-match fireworks after fan concerns. Fan spokesman Michael McCarthy spoke up with the notes reading: "MM suggested no fireworks or light shows or fire and wanting to keep matchdays authentic and organic."

Miller had told a packed fanzone at STACK last month: "It is an absolute privilege to be able to be involved in such a massive project that means so much to so many people. I feel the weight of that responsibility of that, but I am not hindered by it.

"It is a once in a lifetime opportunity. So everything we are doing, do we invest and transform St James' as we see it today on site where we are? Or do we take that bold move and think about moving? We want to make sure it is a very robust process. So regardless of the outcome, I want to stand up in front of everybody through the process and say: 'This is why it is a logical decision'.

"The first choice is if we stayed at St James' we have the 52,000 seats already. It comes with significantly more money if we transform it and it will look amazing. That's option one.

"Option two is if we were to move away, and not too far away as we aren't going to stretch the elastic band to the point of breaking. The second option we are looking at it seriously as it does have the potential to earn more than twice as much in terms of revenue, compared to a transformation of St James' Park. And more seats, a lot more seats potentially."
