Newcastle United fans have sent a clear message to Alexander Isak amid talk over his future ahead of the January transfer window.

The forward has impressed with the Magpies since his move from Real Sociedad in the summer of 2022, and has become a fan favourite at St James’ Park. In his 78 games for the club in all competitions, he has scored 40 goals and provided seven assists.

His performances and goals for Newcastle has led to reported interest in him from the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea. Mikel Arteta’s side were linked with the striker throughout the summer transfer window, and there is some suggestion that they could reignite their interest in January.

Reports suggest that Chelsea are now showing an interest. However, if they are to sell in the winter window, then Newcastle have set an asking price of a minimum of £115 million.

It’s perhaps no surprise then that other clubs have been linked with an interest ahead of the Isak and the Magpies are in action on Monday night as they take on West Ham United at St James’ Park. And ahead of that game, Newcastle fans made a huge gesture to Isak as well as sending him a clear transfer message.

Before the teams came out of the tunnel, the Leazes end of the ground had blue and yellow flags, the colours of Isak’s Sweden team, spelling out his name. The other end of the stadium held a banner that read “Alexander the great.”

The striker almost paid them back in the best way, as he ran in behind the West Ham defence and dinked the ball over the goalkeeper in just the sixth minute. However, the offside flag cut short any celebrations with VAR confirming the decision.
