Newcastle United star Alexander Isak steals the show alongside £100m Premier League transfer target
Newcastle United star Alexander Isak was in scintillating form as Sweden beat Martin Dubravka's Slovakia to advance from their Nations League Group C on Saturday evening.
Isak teed up attacking co-star Viktor Gyokeres, the Sporting Lisbon forward with a £100m release clause who is being linked with moves to Manchester United and Arsenal, for the opening goal - before finding the net with his own effort after 48 minutes as the deadly duo combined again.
Sweden 2-1 victory will see them progress to League B in the Nations League after seeing off Slovakia, Azerbaijan and Estonia in their group following their surprise relegation last time out. "That was the goal, there was nothing else on the table. We were going to win the group. It was nice that we won today," Isak said after the win.

Isak's Sweden record continues to go from strength to strength, with the Newcastle star taking his tally to four goals in three games for his country this term. His overall record - for the Magpies and Sweden - for the campaign stands at nine goals and three assists in 14 games.
Isak wasted little time on Saturday evening, teeing up Gyokeres inside three minutes as the Sporting forward fired beyond Dubravka with a low, right-footed effort. The Liga Portugal top scorer returned the favour just three minutes after the interval, with Newcastle's backup stopper powerless when attempting to keep Isak out.
"He's a fantastic football player, he plays in Premier League and is very good there," former Sweden and Arsenal star Freddie Ljungberg said at full-time. He's a player of high class and what's important for me today is the our best players gets the ball in the right areas so they can be dangerous.
"Look at the coolness when he scores 2-1. Boom, just banging it in."
Sweden will take on Azerbaijan in their final group game next week.
