Arteta confirmed the fresh blow, saying: “He [Smith Rowe] will be out for weeks. How many will be determined in relation to how he progresses in the next few weeks. It’s a big blow as he was getting some momentum and some minutes. We were starting to get the Emile that we needed but unfortunately, he is out.”
Arsenal are back in action on Saturday when they take on Newcastle United away from home. The Gunners put on an electric display against Sheffield United last weekend, but they have since been knocked out of the Carabao Cup by West Ham United.
They will look to get back to winning ways on Saturday against a tricky Newcastle side who have ambitions of qualifying for Europe again this season. How said of the fresh blow: “It doesn’t look good. He is having his scan today so we will know more today. When you have a hamstring injury, you sort of fear the worst. It is a real blow to lose him, he is a top player.”
Howe has said: “There’s unfortunately not [an update] with Sven. We’ll have to wait and see over the next few weeks and then hopefully we’ll get some more news but at the moment we’re still waiting to find out.”

"Ricky needs to walk a day in our shoes even though I wouldn't wish it on anyone." Louise said her family had planned to watch the Netflix special, which is due to be released on Christmas Day, in honour of her son, but is hoping people were join her in boycotting it. "Christmas is hard enough, let alone knowing that will be aired,'' she said. "We're just going through the motions, and trying our best to get by. "We had planned to watch it on Christmas Day for George but there's no way we'll be tuning in now. "In a way, I'm glad I knew that was on it so I didn't get a shock on the day. "He's reached new lows with his jokes. "He does a lot for animal charities, and I think he needs to make this right and donate to some children's cancer charities. "It's the least he can do after the upset and outrage he's caused."
