Newcastle United's celebration following their 1-0 win over Arsenal in the Premier League proves just how much the victory means.

The Magpies went into the clash as underdogs, but Alexander Isak's 12th-minute header proved enough, with Arsenal struggling to contain the hosts and lacking creativity in the final third. The Gunners have now dropped seven points behind new leaders Liverpool ahead of a huge clash against Chelsea next week.

Newcastle meanwhile recorded their first league victory in five games, and you could tell how much it meant to the players at full-time. Eddie Howe's men returned to the tradition of taking team photos in the dressing room following the victory.

Midfielder Sandro Tonali posted the photo on Instagram with the caption "St James', we did it again" with fans applauding his passion for the club. The 24-year-old has become a key player for Newcastle this season having missed the majority of the last campaign due to receiving a ban for breaching the Football Association's betting rules.

The Magpies are under pressure to challenge for Europe this season having failed to miss out last time, so today's victory is huge. It was also the perfect audition for talisman Isak, who is viewed as a future transfer target for Arsenal. The lack of a proven goalscorer has been one of Arsenal's biggest worries in recent years and was evident again today.

Mikel Arteta's men registered 10 shots throughout the game, but just one of those was on target compared to the hosts four. It's been suggested that Newcastle's Swedish hero could leave the club if they fail to qualify for the Champions League, and North London could be a likely destination given the player idolises Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
