Newcastle and West Ham have found out what they will need to do to sign Armando Broja, with the Chelsea player reportedly making his desires known.

Broja spent last season on loan at Southampton. He got off to a good start, notching six goals and one assist in his first 19 Premier League appearances of the campaign.

The striker also grabbed goals against West Ham and Newport County in Southampton’s cup runs.

Broja’s goals dried up towards the end of the season. But he still made a big impression during his first full campaign in the Prem and is now a target for several top-flight clubs.

Newcastle and West Ham are two sides who have been linked. Eddie Howe can already rely on Chris Wood and Callum Wilson up front at St James’ Park.

But with them both being 30 years old, it would be good for the Magpies to bring in a younger option.

West Ham, meanwhile, have been searching for a new striker for several transfer windows. A new attacker is needed to help Michail Antonio, and Broja would be an ideal solution.

The Athletic provide an update on Broja’s situation. They reveal the Albania international doesn’t want another loan move after being shipped out to Vitesse Arnhem and Southampton in recent seasons.

Armando Broja a target for Premier League clubs

He wants to either be given a chance at Chelsea or to secure a permanent transfer elsewhere.

Due to this, Newcastle and West Ham know they need to spend money to sign Broja, rather than opening talks over a loan move.

Broja’s impressive performances last term mean he won’t come cheap. But it could be a shrewd signing for Newcastle or West Ham. Broja is a natural goalscorer with Prem experience and big potential.

He is in a difficult position at Chelsea right now, which could help Newcastle or West Ham to capture him.

The 20-year-old’s entourage want assurances he will get opportunities at Chelsea before the club’s pre-season tour starts.

But Thomas Tuchel and the Chelsea hierarchy are yet to tell him their plans. And this could result in a summer exit.

Broja has a few good options right now. With Chelsea loaning Romelu Lukaku out to Inter Milan, Broja only has Kai Havertz in his way for a starting spot.

But Newcastle and West Ham are also attractive destinations, and both need a young striker such as Broja in their ranks.

Meanwhile, Newcastle could pull off a transfer coup by capturing a Real Madrid player this summer.
