WITH the summer transfer window set to officially open on Friday, Adver Sport rounds up all the latest deals from League Two.

A handful of Swindon Town’s rivals have already begun their business – Newport County made their fifth signing of the summer on Tuesday with the recent acquisition of Declan Drysdale from Coventry City for an undisclosed fee.

An announcement by James Rowberry’s men confirming the move for the 22-year-old defender followed a permanent deal for midfielder Sam Bowen from Cardiff City and Chanka Zimba on loan from the Bluebirds.

The Exiles also brought in Aaron Wildig on a free transfer from Morecambe, and striker Will Evans from Bala Town.

Meanwhile, Bradford City have signed Huddersfield Town striker Kian Harratt on a season-long loan deal.

The 19-year-old played for Port Vale last season and was a part of the side which knocked Swindon out of the League Two play-offs on penalties before beating Mansfield Town 3-0 at Wembley in the final.

After Harratt’s move was confirmed, Bantams boss Mark Hughes told the club website: “Kian is an exciting young player who we have been monitoring for some time.

“We are pleased to be welcoming him to the club, and are looking forward to working with him.”

Walsall have signed experienced defender Peter Clarke on a one-year contract after he turned down a new deal with Tranmere Rovers.

The 40-year-old made 51 appearances for Rovers in all competitions last season and scored four goals while keeping two clean sheets in games against Swindon.

Clarke began his career at Premier League side Everton, playing 14 games for the Toffees, and joined Tranmere from Fleetwood Town in January 2020.

"Peter is a fantastic professional, he is a leader," Saddlers boss Michael Flynn told the club website.

"He was the only outfield player to play every minute of every game last season and he was in the League Two team of the year."

Mansfield have signed goalkeeper Scott Flinders on an initial one-year contract following his release by League One club Cheltenham Town.

The 35-year-old made 23 appearances for the Robins during the 2021-22 season and will compete with Nathan Bishop – the young stopper who turned out 53 times for the Stags last term.

"He's been a very good goalkeeper over the years and has come here to compete for the first-choice goalkeeping spot," said manager Nigel Clough.
